World of Embassy

The Visa Office of Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco now accepts applications for two-year multiple-entry business visa (F visa). The visa is issued to US citizens, who need to visit China frequently on business. The visa is valid for two years since the issuing date and for multiple entries into China's mainland, with the duration of each stay being up to 90 days.

REQUIREMENTS: Please submit the following upon application:

- One completed and signed Visa Application Form of the People's Republic of China (please mark "2-year multiple" in the item "Intended number of entries"), with one recent passport photo (2"X2", front-view, black & white or colorful).

- Current passport with at least 2 years of validity and at least one blank visa page, one photocopy of the personal information page of the passport;

- Supporting documents:

Photocopy of the previous Chinese visas, if the applicant has two or more Chinese F visas, or at least one multiple-entry F visa; or

Original and one photocopy of Certificate of Investment, Business License, or Business Contract, if the applicant has investment, branch office, or business contract to carry out in China.

Please fill in the application form carefully, completely, and clearly. Otherwise, the application may be delayed or even declined.

METHOD TO APPLY, PROCESS TIME & FEE:

The applicant should apply personally to the visa office, or entrust a relative, friend, or travel/visa agent to submit the application on his/her behalf. No appointment is necessary. Applications by mail or express delivery are not acceptable.

Regularly it takes 7 business days to process. Urgent process is not available.

If the application is approved, please pay $150.00 for the visa fee when picking up. Only cash, Money Order, Cashier's Check is acceptable.

Business fees

Usually, the validity of a single Entry is 3 months and the validity of a double entry visa is 6 months from the date of issuance. Unless specified on the application form and approved by the consular officer, the duration of stay is 30 days.
Any person suffering from mental disorder, leprosy, AIDS, venereal diseases, contagious tuberculosis or other such infectious diseases shall not be permitted to enter China.
The Validity, Duration of Stay, and Number of Entries of the visa is issued at the discretion of the Consular Officers, whose decisions are based on the laws and regulations of China. The Consular Officers have the authority to refuse any visa applications inconsistent with Chinese laws and regulations, or revoke issued visas

Student Visa

X Visa is issued to an alien who comes to China for study, advanced studies or intern practice for a period of more than six months.

An alien who comes to China to study, short-term advanced studies or intern practice for a period of no more than six months shall apply for a (F) Visa.

Visa fee and processing time

$50 for American, and $30 for citizens of other countries.

The regular processing time is 4 working days. For express service, additional fees of $30 for 1 working day processing, or $20 for 2-3 working days processing will be charged.

Please pay by Money Order, Cashier's Check, Company Check or Cash. Personal checks are not acceptable. Please make the check or money order payable to Chinese Embassy or Chinese Consulate.

Additional information

(X) visa is valid for one entry, three months. The holder of a (X) visa shall go through residential formalities in the local public security department within thirty days of entry into China.
