| Visa Information Citizens of the following countries do not need visas when traveling to Brazil for tourism purposes for a period of up to 90 days: Andorra, Argentina, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Bermuda, Bolivia,

New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal,
San Marino, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Surinam, Sweden,
Switzerland, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunis, Turkey, Uruguay, Vatican,
Venezuela. I. Eligibility: This type of Visa can be issued to persons traveling to Brazil for pleasure or to visit friends or relatives, as long as the visitor has no intention to remain indefinitely in the country or engage in any paid activity. This type of Visa can also be issued to: a) individuals taking part in artistic events or athletic competitions for which there are no admission fees and no payment of appearance fee, prize money or any other monetary prize. b) short-term students, such as those attending language school or exchange programs with Brazilian institutions; c) scientists, professors, researchers attending cultural, technological
or scientific seminars or conferences, as long as they do not receive
payment or appearance fees from any Brazilian-based entity, except reimbursement
of expenses or per diem allowances; United States citizens will be charged a non-refundable
processing fee of US$ 100.00 per visa, in reciprocity to an identical
fee paid by Brazilian citizens who apply for a Visa to the United States;
Business Visa I. Eligibility This type of visa can be issued to persons who wish to travel to Brazil for short- term professional purposes that do not involve payment of wages/ salary or financial compensation from a Brazilian entity; it is applicable to: a) short- term business trips. Temporary-II visa holders are not allowed to engage in any paid activity under employment contract with a Brazilian entity. Temporary-II visas can be issued with a validity of up to 5 years and allow for stays of up to 90 days, with multiple entries. Please note that total stay in Brazil cannot exceed 180 days per year.
1) Original passport (valid for at least 6 (six) months prior to its
expiration date). The passport must have at least 2 (two) blank visa pages.
1) The fee for a Temporary-II visa is US$ 60.00(US Postal Money Order Only) for all citizens. 2) United States citizens will be charged an additional non-refundable processing fee of US$ 100.00 per visa, in reciprocity to an identical fee paid by Brazilian citizens who apply for a Visa to the United States. (The total fee is $160.00) . 3) A non-refundable handling fee of US$ 10.00 per visa applies to visa applications submitted by mail or by any other person other than the applicant or an immediate family member. Student VisaI. Eligibility: This type of visa can be issued to persons who travel to Brazil as students, enrolled in a duly recognized university or institution of higher learning, accredited by the Brazilian Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC), such as: a) university students of any level ( undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate). b) students on scholarship or exchange programs with a Brazilian institution of higher learning. II. Required Documents:1) A Passport, valid for at least 6 (six) months and containing at least 2 (two) blank visa pages. 2) Two recent individual passport size photograph (2x2 inches), in color or black and white, front view, full face, taken against a light background. 3) Two application forms (Ms Word97 or PDF), duly filled-out (items 1 through 27) and signed, in the original; the Consulate will not accept forms sent by Fax. 4) For applicants under the age of 18 not traveling with both parents or legal guardian(s), a notarized letter of consent signed by parents or legal guardian(s) authorizing the applicant to travel to Brazil. 5) Proof of residence within the jurisdiction of the Consulate-General in Miami for the past 12 months. III. Temporary-IV Visa Fees:1) The fee for a Temporary-IV visa is $ 40.00. 2) United States citizens will be charged an additional non-refundable processing fee of $ 100.00 per visa, in reciprocity to an identical fee paid by Brazilian citizens who apply for a Visa to the United States. 3) A non-refundable handling fee of US$ 10.00 per visa applies to visa applications submitted by mail or by any other person other than the applicant or an immediate family member. |
