Brazil Miami Visa

  Visa Information
Citizens of the following countries do not need visas when traveling to Brazil for tourism purposes for a period of up to 90 days:

Andorra, Argentina, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Bermuda, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Morocco, Monaco, Namibia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Surinam, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunis, Turkey, Uruguay, Vatican, Venezuela.

Tourist Visa

I. Eligibility:

This type of Visa can be issued to persons traveling to Brazil for pleasure or to visit friends or relatives, as long as the visitor has no intention to remain indefinitely in the country or engage in any paid activity. This type of Visa can also be issued to:

a) individuals taking part in artistic events or athletic competitions for which there are no admission fees and no payment of appearance fee, prize money or any other monetary prize.

b) short-term students, such as those attending language school or exchange programs with Brazilian institutions;

c) scientists, professors, researchers attending cultural, technological or scientific seminars or conferences, as long as they do not receive payment or appearance fees from any Brazilian-based entity, except reimbursement of expenses or per diem allowances;

II. Required Documents:
1- Original passport (valid for at least 6 (six) months prior to its expiration date). The passport must have at least 2 (two) blank visa pages.
2- One recent individual passport photo, full- frontal, white background.
3- One visa application form ( Ms Word97 or PDF), duly filled-out and signed. (Signature must be original and in “BLUE” ink, no faxed forms).
4- Photocopy of round-trip airline ticket, print-out of itinerary or letter from travel agent/airline, confirming purchase of round-trip ticket, including dates of departure and return from Brazil. ( For airline employees, photocopy of airline ID card)
5- For children between the ages of 3 months to 6 years, certificate of vaccination against polio, stating type and dosage.
6- For applicants under 18 years of age, when traveling without both parents or legal guardian(s), a notarized letter of consent signed by parents or legal guardian(s) authorizing the Consulate General of Brazil to issue a visa for the minor applicant (proof required: birth certificate).
7- Whenever applicable (i.e., for participants in athletic competitions or performing arts events), copy of letter from sponsor/organizer with detailed information on the event as well as conditions of attendance.
8- For US citizen, a processing fee of US$ 100.00 in US POSTAL Money Order (ONLY) available at any Post Office will be charged in reciprocity to identical fee paid by Brazilian citizens who applied for a VISA for the United State of America.
9- In addition to the processing fee above a handling fee US$ 10.00 per visa in US POSTAL Money Order (ONLY) applies for applicants submitting by mail or by any individual othert than the applicant.
10- For costs of tourist visa to NON-AMERICAN citizens.(See list below- “VISA COSTS”).

III. Tourist Visa Fees:

United States citizens will be charged a non-refundable processing fee of US$ 100.00 per visa, in reciprocity to an identical fee paid by Brazilian citizens who apply for a Visa to the United States;

Business Visa
I. Eligibility

This type of visa can be issued to persons who wish to travel to Brazil for short- term professional purposes that do not involve payment of wages/ salary or financial compensation from a Brazilian entity; it is applicable to:

a) short- term business trips.
b) journalists, cameramen, news correspondents.
c) airline crew members not holding an international crew ID card.
d) persons intending to adopt children in Brazil.

Temporary-II visa holders are not allowed to engage in any paid activity under employment contract with a Brazilian entity.

Temporary-II visas can be issued with a validity of up to 5 years and allow for stays of up to 90 days, with multiple entries. Please note that total stay in Brazil cannot exceed 180 days per year.


II. Required Documents:

1) Original passport (valid for at least 6 (six) months prior to its expiration date). The passport must have at least 2 (two) blank visa pages.
2) One recent individual passport photo, full- frontal, white background
3) One application forms ( Ms Word97 or PDF), duly filled-out (items 1 through 27) and signed, in the original (for stays longer than 30 days please submit 2 application forms and 2 photos); the Consulate will not accept forms sent by Fax.
4) Notarized letter from the employer of sponsoring company, clearly stating the precise nature of business, dates of arrival and departure, and financial responsibility for the costs of the trip (the letter must be on an official company letterhead or stationary, signed by a senior manager, introducing the applicant and specifying his/her job/position in the company) .
5) Bears of Temporary-II visas intending to stay in Brazil for longer than 90 days must request at the Federal Police Department in Brazil an extension within the first 30 days of their first entry into the country).

III. Temporary-II Visa Fees:

1) The fee for a Temporary-II visa is US$ 60.00(US Postal Money Order Only) for all citizens.

2) United States citizens will be charged an additional non-refundable processing fee of US$ 100.00 per visa, in reciprocity to an identical fee paid by Brazilian citizens who apply for a Visa to the United States. (The total fee is $160.00) .

3) A non-refundable handling fee of US$ 10.00 per visa applies to visa applications submitted by mail or by any other person other than the applicant or an immediate family member.

Student Visa
I. Eligibility:

This type of visa can be issued to persons who travel to Brazil as students, enrolled in a duly recognized university or institution of higher learning, accredited by the Brazilian Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC), such as:

a) university students of any level ( undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate).

b) students on scholarship or exchange programs with a Brazilian institution of higher learning.

II. Required Documents:
1) A Passport, valid for at least 6 (six) months and containing at least 2 (two) blank visa pages.

2) Two recent individual passport size photograph (2x2 inches), in color or black and white, front view, full face, taken against a light background.

3) Two application forms (Ms Word97 or PDF), duly filled-out (items 1 through 27) and signed, in the original; the Consulate will not accept forms sent by Fax.

4) For applicants under the age of 18 not traveling with both parents or legal guardian(s), a notarized letter of consent signed by parents or legal guardian(s) authorizing the applicant to travel to Brazil.

5) Proof of residence within the jurisdiction of the Consulate-General in Miami for the past 12 months.

III. Temporary-IV Visa Fees:
1) The fee for a Temporary-IV visa is $ 40.00.
2) United States citizens will be charged an additional non-refundable processing fee of $ 100.00 per visa, in reciprocity to an identical fee paid by Brazilian citizens who apply for a Visa to the United States.
3) A non-refundable handling fee of US$ 10.00 per visa applies to visa applications submitted by mail or by any other person other than the applicant or an immediate family member.
