| Visa Information Persons requiring temporary resident visas may submit applications at this office through a travel agent or third party courier, or in person between 9:30 am to 11 am, Monday to Thursday. This office encourages you to submit your application for a temporary resident visa, study permit, or work permit, through a travel agent or third party courier. The decision to use the services of an agent is voluntary and at your discretion. No particular agent will receive preferential treatment. If you choose to use the services of a travel agent, the agent may assist you in filling out the forms, translate documents and drop off and pick up applications at our office but may not intervene on your behalf during the processing or inquire about the progress of your application. While we encourage clients to submit their applications via a travel agent or third party courier, the Canadian government assumes no responsibility for the competence or reliability of the travel agents or third party couriers. It should be noted that the Canadian government neither regulates nor has any control over whether or not travel agents choose to charge a fee for this service nor does it control the amount of the fees charged by those agents who do charge. Clients choosing to use the services of a travel agent or third party courier may wish to compare the services offered and fees being charged (if any) by more than one agent. You may also submit an application in person if you wish, but you will first have to set up an appointment. PROCESSING FEE Because of constant changes in the exchange rate, the processing fees are not available here. To find out about the processing fees, you must call the visa section's telephone number, (+55 11) 5509-4343, and follow the instructions of the voice message system available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. If you are paying in Brazilian real, the only acceptable methods of payment are: certified cheque or direct deposit. For example: your most recent income tax return and the last three pay stubs, and/or approved scholarship, and/or business registration, and/or bank statements. v) one recent passport size photograph of yourself and each accompanying family member. vi) the sealed envelope containing the result of the medical examination, if applicable. vii) the "Certificat d’acceptation du Québec", if applicable. REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION, WORK i) a complete and signed application form. The form can be downloaded from the internet and is also available free of charge from this office. ii) one recent passport size photograph of yourself and each accompanying family member. iii) a valid passport or travel document. If you have it, please submit your old passport as well. iv) proof of funds. For example: your most recent income tax return, and your last three pay stubs, and/or approved research grant, and/or business registration, and/or employment reference letter. v) the offer of employment. vi) medical examination may be required depending on the duration of stay or the nature of work in Canada.
