Grand Canyon National Park

  Grand Canyon National Park :-
The Grand Canyon is more than a great chasm carved over millennia through the rocks of the Colorado Plateau. It is more than an awe-inspiring view. It is more than a pleasuring ground for those who explore the roads, hike the trails, or float the currents of the turbulent Colorado River.
This canyon is a gift that transcends what we experience. Its beauty and size humble us. Its timelessness provokes a comparison to our short existence. In its vast spaces we may find solace from our hectic lives. The Grand Canyon we visit today is a gift from past generations.

ACCESSIBILITY
Facilities vary a great deal. The National Park Service provides wheelchairs for temporary day use by park visitors. No rental fee is charged. A wheelchair is usually available at Canyon View Center. To obtain a temporary parking permit for designated parking, inquire at the Entrance Gate, Canyon View Center, or Yavapai Observtion Station. Several of the daily interpretive Ranger Programs are wheelchair accessible. Inquire at the Canyon View Center or look in the "Guide" for specifics. A copy of the Grand Canyon National Park Accessibility Guide is available upon request at Canyon View Center, Yavapai Observation Station, Kolb Studio, Tusyan Museum, and Desert View Information Center.

FOR KIDS
Junior Ranger Program - To be a Grand Canyon National Park Junior Ranger is a very special privilege and honor. You receive a certificate, get sworn in as a Junior Ranger, and get to wear a badge just like Rangers wear. It is a privilege because not everyone who visits Grand Canyon National Park becomes a Junior Ranger.
EDUCATIONAL PPROGRAMS are also available for teachers and students during the school year. Contact the Environmental Education Program (928-638-7762) for more information. TEACHERS: Ask about the Dynamic Earth School Field Trip Program.
