Visa Information

The Consolidated Appropriations Act, signed into law December 8, 2004, has changed the fee structure for some visa applications. As a result, the processing fee for an immigrant visa has been increased from $335 to $380. This change is effective March 8, 2005.

Thus, if you have an immigrant visa appointment on or after March 8, 2005, you should be prepared at the time of interview with the new fee of $380.

If you paid the old fee in the US when you submitted your petition, and will interview on or after March 8, you must still pay the difference of $45 at the time of your interview. Thank you.

Family-Based Immigrant Visas

Please note, you must be 21 year old or over to file a IV petition for a family member. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, in-laws and cousins cannot sponsor a relative for immigration. There is a annual quota for visas in each of these categories. Please select IV Priority Dates to see how long the wait is for a visa in any of these categories. For additional information about each category of visa, please visit the Visa Office website or the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) web site.
