Make your visa application an early part of the process - book an application appointment well in advance! If for reasons beyond your control you cannot get an appointment before the start date noted on your I-20 or DS-2019 form, we will try to grant you an earlier interview. Come to the consulate at 8:30 a.m. on the Wednesday no sooner than three weeks prior to your I-20/DS-2019 start date, and we will do our best to accommodate you.* The U.S. Mission in Ghana is committed to accommodating all student visa applicants. However, we cannot guarantee early interviews in every case, as the number of applicants sometimes exceeds our capacity to interview. *Students will be granted only ONE EARLY interview per 12-Month period.
Dependents of F and J visa holders who are applying for follow-to-join
visas must use the online appointment system. Early interviews can only
be granted to principal student and exchange visitor applicants or dependents
applying at the same time as the principal applicant.
