Student Visa Application Requirements

For complete information on nonimmigrant visas, please refer to the U.S. Embassy website: http://kuwait.usembassy.gov Applications for student visas, like all other nonimmigrant visas, are accepted by appointment only. The Embassy makes every effort to expedite student applications, however, and will make an appointment for a student visa interview within two business days of the request. To request an interview for a student visa application, you may write the Consular Section at visaapptkuwaitm@state.gov, or visit the Embassy in person between 11:00AM and 12:00PM Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

Most approved visa applications are issued the same day. Certain applications do require additional administrative processing, however. Processing times average between two to three weeks. For this reason, the Consular Section recommends that students apply for their visas at least one month before they are scheduled to start classes.
